馬雅 預言 2012 年將是地球的終結之日，「 是芥末日 」這詞大家從年初聽到現在，心態應該已經變成是「呿！都你在說~」。或許這樣的恐怖預言，有人會認為是有心人士惟恐天下不亂，但我們更寧願去相信，這是要提醒世人好好愛護地球的警語。法國巴黎藝術家 Lucie & Simon 的攝影作品 Silent world （無聲的世界），便以「當我們的世界一片沈寂」為出發點，讓觀影者從影像中，進而產生反思。當這世界一片沈寂，只剩你一人時……你會？
無聲勝有聲
Lucie & Simon在法國巴黎工作，他們的攝影作品源自於對現實生活的感知，從攝影的過程與成果中，來傳達想法。受到美國導演David Lynch和拍攝《迷幻公園》的Gus van Sant，電影裡頭的荒蕪空寂所影響，Lucie & Simon的作品也反映出現實與幻想世界的差距，人是可以在暫停的時間存在著。

大家應該都有聽過法語的「déjà-vu」，Silent world（無聲的世界）也是從這個詞彙所發展出來的。「déjà-vu」指的是似曾相識，電影《時空線索》裡頭的丹佐華盛頓飾演一名FBI鑑識組的調查員，他從「時空之窗」回到過去，試著去阻止謀殺案的發生，而這裡的時空之窗，就是「déjà-vu」。若末日降臨之際，我們可否回到過去？阻止一切的發生？
Silent world（無聲的世界）的影像透露出，好像曾經經歷過，一種對於空間環境的似曾相識感。Lucie & Simon想要傳達的是在這個令人感到不安的時代中，不同城市所展現出來「另類」的沈寂之感。或許有人會覺得這樣的影像創作，過於濫情煽動，但若以觀察員的角度來看，他們不過是用自己的經驗、想像力來表達對我們居住生活環境的反思。

怎麼把人變不見？
從照片中，大家可以發現，他們所拍攝的都是一些大城市的街景，在人車往來那麼多的環境之中，如何讓這些城市一片死寂呢？這還不簡單，你可以透過多重曝光，把同一個地點，不同時間的影像疊合在一起，或使用Photoshop後製處理，一一移除那些正在移動的人、事、物。
在這邊，Lucie & Simon是利用長時曝光，加上NASA專門拍攝星星的ND減光鏡作拍攝，模糊照片中真實與幻想的界線，讓觀影者產生錯覺。長時曝光是利用慢速快門來留住移動的軌跡，不過加上ND減光鏡之後，減少光量的通過，讓擁擠的城市，經過很長很長時間的曝光之後，幻化成渺無人煙的城市街景。
